5:06AM First alarm goes off. Hit snooze.
5:33AM To the garage. Raise the garage door and it’s raining but not blowing in so I leave it open and enjoy the sound and the cool breeze. Oscar sits in the doorway the whole time I work out. Do two rounds of Tone It Up’s 7 minute HIIT workout (lunges, jump squats, planks, crunches, jumping jacks) and a few minutes of their Bikini Abs workout.
6:17AM Go inside and realize that Ryan’s not left yet, and he’s not even ready. He’s JUST gotten up and is brushing his teeth. I put the filter in the coffee pot and set out the coffee because I don’t know how much he puts in. I go to the garage and get his uniform shirt and pants and lay on the counter, and gather his phone, keys, etc. for him.
6:25AM Finally get in the shower. Running way behind.
6:35AM Turn off the shower and hear that Ellie’s crying. She’s standing up in her bed so I hurry to dry off and get dressed. By the time I’m dressed she’s laying back down quietly, so I dry my hair, and put my makeup on before I have to get her up. We’re almost back on schedule.
7:03AM Get her up. She’s happy and talking. She’s excited about the butterfly outfit I have laid out for her that Nana Cheryl brought her last week.
7:07AM Head to the couch. Got her ready in record time. Snuggle and watch the beginning of the Today Show.
7:20AM Out the door. Give her a blankey over her car seat today and she snuggles with it all the way to Marianne’s. When we get there she’s snuggling with her blankey and holding her milk in one arm and Tigger and her burp cloth in the other. 🙂
7:45AM Jacob and Finnley are happy to see her. They’re telling each other “I’m Finnley!” “I’m Jacob!” over and over. They’re all crowding around and there are babies everywhere. No wonder Ellie loves it here. And Maddox is back! His mom’s a school teacher so he’s been gone all summer and he was her best buddy in the spring. She called for him for days when summer break started. I tell her I love her and give her lots of kisses and she gets down to play, so I head out the door. When I walk past the window she is crying and reaching for me, and Marianne is picking her up.
8:00AM At my desk. Marianne texts me a picture. I knew she’d be fine, probably even before I got out of the driveway.
11:30AM Go to lunch. Read blogs. Work on Project Life on my laptop.
1:30PM A coworker brings me a frappuccino. YUM.
1:45PM The afternoon company mail comes with a hot pink shirt for Ryan that I asked our human resources person for. He loves their shirts because they’re thin, and said he would wear pink if I’d get him one. I send him a text. 🙂
3:00PM Taking pictures for our monthly flyers.
4:40PM Back to my desk to catch up on anything that has to be done today. Hard-boiled egg snack.
5:00PM Take my peanut butter balls home to eat in the car. Ellie is happy to see me. She’s quiet all the way home, drinking her leftover milk from this morning that I kept in the fridge at work today.
Daddy is home when we get home. He comes out to get Ellie out of the car, then goes to take a shower. I start a load of laundry, Ellie helps me push the laundry basket into the kitchen to fold laundry while we watch the news.
6:30PM Daddy heats up spaghetti for Ellie. I eat the rest. We eat mixed veggies and cottage cheese. Ellie eats a ton of blueberries, then she and I share a chocolate ice cream drumstick. After I eat the bottom of the cone, she yells “IIII CEAM!!!” over and over for a few minutes. Sorry baby girl, Mama ate the rest. 🙂
7:50PM Daddy gives her a bath. She is grouchy and screaming at him again. She doesn’t usually do that for me, but she screams at him a lot. Daddy brushes her hair and puts her jammies on while I fold laundry.
8:30PM Daddy changes her diaper, then I rock her and sing to her. She is mad that I take the sippy cup away when her water is gone so she’ll stop sucking air. She’s yelling at me. When Daddy comes in to tell her goodnight she is mad and he picks her up and hugs her and she burps so loud. She won’t give either of us a kiss, but she lays down fine.
8:45PM Ellie’s in bed. I rewrite the grocery list for Ryan for Wal-Mart tomorrow.
9:15PM Head to the couch with peanut butter balls to watch the Republican debate and catch up on IG and FB.
10:45PM Order State Fair tickets online (they’re $9 a piece, but $12 at the gate).
11:00PM Finally head to bed and read for a few minutes. Have to get Ryan off the couch twice to come to bed.
Friday’s words and photos coming soon!
